As the Founder and Principal of MT Public Health Consulting, LLC, Manuela is dedicated to collaborating with businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations to foster health promotion, disease prevention, and the pursuit of health equity. Armed with a Master’s degree in Public Health and certification from the National Board of Public Health Examiners, she continually expands her expertise, recently earning the Google Project Management Certificate.
Manuela's extensive local involvement in maternal child health spans eight years, encompassing roles such as a Board of Directors Member at EmpowHERto, Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Early Intervention Specialist for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Fetal and Infant Mortality Review Project Coordinator for the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade, Opioid Addiction Taskforce Member for Miami-Dade County, and Senior Program Coordinator for the Black Mothers Care Plan of South Florida.
As a first-generation Haitian-American, Manuela's passion for community health extends globally. Through volunteer work with KORE Haiti, she has traveled to Haiti to deliver prevention-focused health education workshops in Haitian-Creole and bridged communication gaps between patients and non-Creole speaking medical professionals.
In her consultancy role, Manuela has focused on increasing provider knowledge and community awareness of substance misuse and overdose prevention, particularly addressing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) in Florida and non-medical prescription drug use among young adults.
Notably, she served as Project Lead for the CDC/DOH-funded MOMCHA (Making Optimal Maternal Child Health Accessible) Program. In this capacity, she developed and maintained partnerships with federally qualified health centers, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of all project deliverables to enhance access to doula services in Miami-Dade County.
Manuela's impactful work has garnered attention, and she was featured on NBC 6 South Florida for her efforts with EmpowHERto in making mental health care more accessible to girls and young women from underserved communities in Broward County.
She earned her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Public Health from the University of South Florida, specializing in health promotion and behavior, with leadership training in maternal child health from the USF Center of Excellence in Maternal Child Health.
